I was hoping it would go in depth as to why structuring the brainstorming this way is more useful than others and it is very similar to NGT.Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10813312811927091791noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4509736829271344872.post-63229531011340777912015-10-19T09:45:44.717-04:002015-10-19T09:45:44.717-04:00I agree with Dan. And I think it is very useful in terms of generating unique and quality ideas.Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14325668552951820760noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4509736829271344872.post-61112112395206423502015-10-19T09:16:19.724-04:002015-10-19T09:16:19.724-04:00I thought this is a great piece on how to more eff...I thought this is a great piece on how to more effectively impliment the technique, we essencially did this last year in our first intelligence class with Professor Wheaton. This seems like it would be possible to develop a means for conducting this technique remotely via the internet. There would just have to be a well designed user interface for having the group collectively sort ideas by type.Dan Wheltonhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06658075179795132561noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4509736829271344872.post-76359104671929355342015-10-19T08:22:16.281-04:002015-10-19T08:22:16.281-04:00It's interesting that you note the lack of con...It's interesting that you note the lack of cons discussed by the author because I was thinking the exact same thing. However, the publication that contains this (and other) techniques is not really the forum for in-depth discussions on strengths and weaknesses of techniques, but more of a how-to. However, in the diverging and converging stages, the authors are essentially describing Nominal Group Technique, which eliminates many of the weaknesses of traditional brainstorming.Andrew Coffeyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17519052590125945341noreply@blogger.com
